The parking record

Management's own emails to residents, in order. Quotes are exact.

  1. Leasing staff under prior management told residents that Red Fez Club Rd. was the overflow parking area, because on-site parking wasn't enough. Resident account

  2. "Reserved parking spaces will soon be added in select areas throughout the community." Unauthorized vehicles "will be subject to booting and/or towing at the owner's expense." Resident email, Property Staff

  3. "We have a total of 20 designated reserved parking spaces" at "$150 per reserved spot." Unauthorized vehicles "will be booted and/or towed." That's 20 fewer spaces for everyone else. Resident email, Property Staff

  4. Spaces near the leasing office are kept for prospective residents during office hours. Resident cars must be moved by 8:00 AM or be "booted or towed." Resident email, Property Staff

  5. On break-ins: "The incidents reported along Red Fez Road occurred on a public roadway that is not owned or controlled by Lakehouse on Wylie." Senior Community Manager

  6. "As for Red Fez Club Road, because it is a public roadway and is not managed by The Lakehouse on Wylie, there are some limitations on what we can control." Senior Community Manager

  7. "Effective immediately, residents are no longer permitted to park on" Red Fez Club Rd., with a community map marking the road "DO NOT PARK." Resident email, Lakehouse on Wylie

Community map from the August 21, 2026 notice with Red Fez Club Rd marked DO NOT PARK
    Image from management's August 21, 2026 notice.
  8. Management said it "cannot guarantee parking directly in front of each building or change the current parking configuration," and offered one resident a garage free for six months, then $200 a month. Senior Community Manager

The question residents are asking

In June and August, management said Red Fez Club Rd. is a public road it doesn't own or control. In August, it told residents they can no longer park there. The community already charges for reserved spaces and has LMS boot and tow cars on site. If the road isn't theirs, where are residents supposed to park?

    Contest rules

Contest rules: free to enter, no purchase necessary. One prize per month: one Starbucks venti beverage of the winner's choice, sent as a Starbucks eGift to the email on the winner's account. The winner is the story posted that month (Eastern time) with the most unique readers; a tie goes to the higher average reader rating. We verify the winning story before awarding the prize; if it can't be verified, the prize goes to the next most viewed story. Readers can't rate their own stories, and each reader counts once. Stories that turn out to be false are removed. Stories reported by several readers are hidden until a moderator checks them. Must be 18 or older. Not sponsored by or affiliated with Starbucks.

    Had a break-in or a stolen car?

    1. Call CMPD first: 911 if it's happening now or the suspect is still there. Otherwise call 311 and ask for CMPD Non-Emergency Police Services. A break-in (theft from a vehicle) can also be filed with CMPD's online report. Get the report number.
    2. Take photos before you clean anything up: the window, the glass, what was taken, where the car was parked.
    3. Pin it on the map where it happened. Pick Break-in or Stolen vehicle, and put the date, time and CMPD report number in the note.
    4. Post the photos on the wall in #break-ins-and-stolen-cars so neighbors know to watch that area.
    5. Report it to the leasing office in writing (email), so there's a dated record.

    House rules

    1. Stick to what you saw yourself. Describe what happened, when and how management responded. Don't guess about anyone's motives.
    2. Protect your neighbors. No names, unit numbers, faces, license plates or details that identify another resident.
    3. Staff are people. Criticize decisions and responses, not anyone's appearance or personal life.
    4. Your media, your rights. Upload only photos and clips you took or have permission to share. No copying from other sites.
    5. Reviews and map pins are checked before they go live. Wall posts go live right away, and moderators remove any that break these rules. To ask for a correction or removal, email [email protected].
